You made a lot of mistakes when it came to taking care of the baby bird. For example, you put a rock on it to keep it warm, which was very strange. You did not make any fatal mistakes, however, so the baby bird ended up just fine. You put forth your best effort to find it food and take care of it. You even attacked another animal just because it could have been a threat. That perceived threat ended up being the baby bird’s primary caregiver (you hope), but we all make mistakes.
What matters is that you did the right thing.
Doing the right thing is not always the best thing for yourself.
Maybe the baby bird will remember you.
Probably not, though.
