You chose to let the bird know you are not a threat

You bow your head a bit. You slide your paws out. You are in more of a resting position, still hovering over the baby bird. You look vulnerable.

The large bird hops off the tree branch. It lands on mud and leaves and twigs. It carefully moves toward you.

As it gets closer, the baby bird brightens up.

The large bird is nearly next to you when the baby bird makes an excited “Kweh!” sound. With a burst of energy, it sprints toward the large bird. It runs headfirst into the large bird’s breast. The large bird hovers over the baby bird and moves its wing over it.

The large bird looks at you.

You look at the large bird.
