The snake, which is clearly very healthy and not in need of your assistance, seems passive as you shoo it out of your cave and into the wet forest. You see it slither through the thick grass and out of your sight. By your estimation, there is no telling what happened to the baby bird that was just moments ago resting and waiting in your cave.
The cold air feels worse on your wet fur. You hurdle up against your cave wall. It too is cold. You curl into a ball and let the berries fall out of your mouth. You lick them. You will probably eat them later. For now, you endure the cold and try to sleep.
