You watched the baby bird die and did absolutely nothing to stop it. The worms in your mouth only accent the fact that your passivity is incompetent at best and deadly at worst. During situations like this, where one might have failed but needs to be lifted back up, it would be commonplace and acceptable to say, “Well, at least you tried.” But that was your one problem.

You did not try.

Not even a little bit.

Your complete lack of effort is downright strange when it is considered that you ran through the rain and carried worms for the baby bird right before you watched it die.

Well, at least you have worms to eat now.
