You softly pick up the baby bird with your teeth and bring it outside of your cave. You find a nice, soft patch of soil and dig up the earth. You place the baby bird into the hole. You cover it with the dirt. You leave the worm-twig on top of the soil as a kind of reminder for yourself. That is where the baby bird you tried to save is resting.
A strong wind picks up and blows the twig away. It is lost among the endless number of twigs in the forest.
