You kneel before the lizard ghost and beg for forgiveness. You did not mean to end the lizard. You did not want to kill a lizard today. Or any day. You just wanted to smell some rocks and mold and moss. Nobody deserves to kill a lizard so freely.
But it was by accident. It should not have happened. You tell the ghost lizard you are unsure what you can do to earn forgiveness. You tell it you will do anything. You will hold lizards to the highest regards. You will praise reptiles. You will envy their cold blood. You certainly will not kill anymore.
The ghost lizard licks its eye again. It fades away.
You go home.
You take a nap.
